The past few weeks have been nothing short of a whirlwind here at VSporto. We’ve seen exciting growth, new records thanks to National Signing Day, and the launch of VSporto Select, bringing you OnDemand to our team channel websites and more. We’re also proud to announce we just surpassed our 4,000th show.

Advertising is important for us because it pays our bills to continue broadcasting. Last April we launched our Click-To-Anything advertising platform and it has grown to producing over one million impressions per month on mobile devices. That’s nearly two impressions every second!

Our Click-To-Anything platform allows businesses to create any campaign imaginable on a mobile device.

Today we’re announcing an innovative upgrade to our advertising platform, businesses can now create up to four options seamlessly for users in one mobile display ad. This allows businesses to connect with our audiences more efficiently and it puts our audiences in control how they prefer to connect with a campaign.

For example, if you click on a mobile display ad, you will be given up to four options of connecting with a business, such as click to: Like on Facebook, Follow on Twitter, call, e-mail, text, locate on a map and get turn-by-turn directions, go to a website, view a splash graphic, or anything imaginable with a mobile device all in one. All while the app continues to stream.

These new offerings in our mobile display ads are simple, interactive, and extremely effective by offering a plethora of instant information at your fingertips anytime, anywhere. They offer the most in advertising for Mississippi businesses and we’re really excited to bring them to our users.

2012 was a big year for VSporto. We had over one million listeners from not just the state of Mississippi, but from the United States and over 50 different countries. VSporto listeners tune in longer than any other sports radio listeners in the state. Our listeners streamed over 80 years worth of VSporto audio in just 365 days. And in 2013, we’re looking forward to even bigger things.

The good folks at VSporto have gotten a lot of listener feedback since we launched and the most frequently requested feature was the ability to access the OnDemand menu from the web. With that in mind, we’re thrilled to introduce our new Select service.

Not only do you get our latest content, but we’ve also opened up the archives dating back to November 2011, so you can go back and relive the best moments of the past two seasons.

These Select segments will give you a behind-the-curtain look at some of the latest topics and headlines around your favorite program.

Hundreds of Mississippi State and Ole Miss fans came out to watch their teams and support Make-A-Wish Mississippi.  We had a blast raffling off of over 55 prizes, including several local business donations and autographed memorabilia. Burgers and Blues generously donated 10% of all food sales during the events to Make-A-Wish. Bulldog and Rebel Sports Radio fans helped us raise $2,151 for Make-A-Wish Mississippi, which is enough for half the cost of an average wish!

“We had a great time. This was an awesome event and we will most certainly attend them in the future. Enjoyed spending time with Rebel Nation,” said Matt Williams, a loyal Rebel Sports Radio listener who attended a Watch Party.

“It was great to see Burgers and Blues packed with maroon-clad folks enjoying fellowship with other Bulldogs. The crew at Bulldog Sports Radio kept the event entertaining with drawings and giveaways. VSporto continues to grow its regular listener base on a monthly basis. As of the month of September, VSporto now boasts 25,410 active registered listeners on both the Rebel and Bulldog networks, and 195,885 total listeners for the month including online streams. That’s more than both football stadiums in Oxford and Starkville combined.

Also during September 2012, VSporto networks streamed a total of 62,030 hours of total listening time through its Bulldog Sports Radio and Rebel Sports Radio apps as well as online. That’s over 2,500 days of around-the-clock streams in a single month.

VSporto has seen steady growth in listenership since it’s inception. The chart below illustrates its growth since it launched in late September 2011.

It seems like only yesterday that we were eagerly anticipating the approval of the app in the App Store. There was a lot of tense waiting and a few rounds of revisions, but we finally got the winning formula and launched late on the evening of Sep. 26, 2011 with absolutely no idea as to what we should expect.

The next day we had over 1,000 downloads and over 500 registered users. Honestly, we were in a state of ecstatic shock for a few days afterwards. Of course downloads continued to climb over the next few days and our euphoria followed suit.

Twelve months later and we’ve seen exponential growth in every single measurable category thanks in large part to the hard work and long hours of our excellent hosts. To Brad, Bob, Brian, Justin, Joe, Danny and the rest of the guys with us at the beginning … our sincerest thanks. It’s been a helluva year.

Of course the most important facet in our successful first year has been our loyal listeners. Since launch we’ve had over a quarter of a million listeners tune in to Bulldog Sports Radio and your positive reaction to our idea that people want team-specific talk has enabled us to grow faster than we ever thought possible.
